Trying to quit smoking?

Trying to quit smoking, but not able to overcome the anxiety as you contemplate giving up the smoke… The fault is not just on you but with the cigarette too…!

Yes, the nicotine in cigarettes is not only a stimulant which keeps you vigil, but is also a mood-regulator.

Smokers would have best experienced this when taking a puff to blow off their anxiety. The chemical properties of nicotine helps keep one aware and awake, warding away tiredness and dullness, making the smokers super-charged after they take a smoke. This push is something most smokers seek, keeping them going through their busy days.

Not only does it boost one when needed, but also stabilises the mood, making one feel more comfortable and at ease. When quitting smoking, many people struggle through it not being able to overcome the anxiety and dullness, which a cigarette will readily ward off, pulling them back into the loop.

Another important culprit is the patterns of the body in trying to adapt to a nicotine-free routine. Refraining from cigarettes can disrupt one’s sleep routine as well as cause a range of withdrawal symptoms like constipation, diarrhoea, headaches and irritability.

One needs to understand that this is nothing but the body’s mechanism to fight the toxins within. Once you hold on to your resolve for a few days and cope with these changes, you are sure to succeed.
